The incident happened with constables Hanumanth Alagundi and Rudrappa, who were patrolling in Akashvani Layout. Officials said that both the policemen injured in the attack were treated and are now fine.

Uniform torn, extreme hooliganism

According to the police, this incident occurred on May 1. At around 3 am in the morning, B.Tech students Harsh, Chand, Mrinal and Aryan were drinking alcohol after parking their car in the middle of the road in Akashvani Layout near Dasarhalli. At the same time, constables Rudrappa and Hanmanth of Amritahalli police station reached there while patrolling.

When the policemen stopped him from drinking alcohol in the middle of the road, he got angry. One of them abused by shouting, ‘Karnataka police motherfucker’. After this, when a constable moved forward to take out the stick from his bike, all four caught him from behind.

The accused then tore the constable’s uniform, beat him with punches and kicks and fled from the spot. After this incident, constable Rudrappa, who was injured in the attack, lodged a complaint at Amritahalli police station, on the basis of which an FIR was written. Police arrested two accused through the registration number of the car. Police said that the search for absconding Chand and Mrinal is going on.

The accused are from a rich family

Police sources have revealed that except Mrinal, all three of these accused are from local rich families. It is believed that he committed this hooliganism under the influence of money.
