oral health
If you are brushing daily and still cavities (worm infestation and decay) are occurring in your teeth, then you need to know the reason. This is because it is not necessary that if you are brushing then there will be no cavity. Apart from this, many things need to be kept in mind. We have talked to Dr. Pravesh Mehra, HOD, Department of Oral and Dental Surgery at Lady Hardinge Medical College and Associate Hospitals, about why cavity occurs, its symptoms, causes and prevention.
Dr. Mehra explains that first we need to understand what a cavity is. Cavity means deterioration of the upper layer of the teeth. This happens when dangerous bacteria start growing on the teeth. Due to this, decay starts in the teeth and the top layer of the teeth starts reducing, in simple language this is called decay in the teeth. If not taken care of on time, it can cause pain, infection and even tooth loss. Some people say that they brush daily, but still cavities are occurring. There are many reasons for this happening.
not brushing properly
It is not enough to just brush daily, but it is also important to do it in the right way. Brush all the teeth at least once a day for two minutes, not from right to left or left to right, but always brush the teeth from top to bottom, brushing at this angle cleans the dirt between the teeth.
eating too much sugar
If you eat too much sweets and do not rinse or clean your teeth after eating sweets, then these sweet things remain stuck on the teeth. Due to this, bacteria start growing on the teeth and acid is produced which spoils the teeth and causes cavity.
