The weather in Himachal Pradesh is going to take a turn once again and there is a possibility of heavy rain, hailstorm, storm and lightning in the coming days. According to the latest forecast of the Meteorological Department, the weather may worsen in many parts of the state on May 3 and 4, for which Orange and Yellow alerts have been issued.
This has increased the concern of farmers and gardeners, because unseasonal rain and hailstorm can cause damage to crops and fruits.
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be light to moderate rain at some places on May 2, but no warning has been issued on this day. After this, there will be a big change in the weather due to the activation of western disturbance. On May 3, there will be alert in all the districts except Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur. Orange alert has been issued in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi and Shimla, where there is a possibility of strong winds at the speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, rain, hailstorm and lightning. There will be yellow alert in other districts. Almost the same situation will remain on May 4, while yellow alert will continue in many areas on May 5 and 6.
During the last 24 hours, rain and hailstorm were recorded in many parts of the state. Jubbarhatti received the highest rainfall of 34 mm, while Shimla recorded 15.8 mm, Kasauli 11 mm, Jattan Barrage 9.4 mm and Nahan 9.2 mm. During this period, hailstorm also occurred at some places including Shimla, Jubbarhatti and Kufri. However, snowfall was not recorded anywhere.
Talking about temperature, the average minimum temperature in the state is below normal. There is a feeling of cold in many places. The minimum temperature recorded in Tabo was 3.2 degrees Celsius, which was the lowest. Due to changing weather patterns, cold is being felt in Shimla and Manali, while the effect of heat has reduced in the plains as well.
At present, the weather remained clear in most parts of the state on Friday and there was bright sunshine in the lower areas. But this relief is not going to last long. The Meteorological Department has already indicated that the weather will deteriorate again in the early days of May.
Even in the month of April this year, good rainfall was recorded in Himachal and the total rainfall was about 1 percent more than normal. Now the process of cloudy rain is expected to continue in the month of May also, which on one hand can provide relief from the heat, while on the other hand the weather can be heavy on farmers and gardeners.
