MP Dhar Road Accident: Horrific road accident in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh: Tire of a speeding pickup burst, crossed the divider and collided with a Scorpio and overturned several times – 16 deaths, 6 children included, 8 to 10 people injured, condition critical. Dhar (Madhya Pradesh): Wednesday night came like a dark shadow for Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh. There was an outcry near Chikliya Phata on the Indore-Ahmedabad National Highway when a pickup vehicle packed with laborers jumped the divider and fell on the other side, giving the omen of death. Speed of 100 and sudden explosion: death knocked
According to eyewitnesses, the pickup vehicle (MP-11-G-7183) was going from Dhar towards Mangud. The speed of the vehicle was more than 100 kilometers per hour. Suddenly the front tire of the pickup burst with a loud bang near the Jio petrol pump located at Chiklia Phata. Eyewitness Shubham Sisodia says, “The explosion was so strong that it seemed as if a bomb had exploded. The pickup went out of control and climbed the divider, flipped in the air 3-4 times and collided with the Scorpio coming from the other side of the road.”

Dead bodies of innocent people and shattered dreams: a heart-wrenching scene
This accident targeted most of the innocent people. The dead include 6 children. When the list of ‘brought dead’ (brought dead) was being prepared in the hospital, the eyes of every person present there were moist. The innocence of 9 year old Tanu (daughter Umesh, resident Nayapura) and Kiran (daughter Dinesh, resident Semlipura) was snatched away by the cruel claws of time. 14-15 year old Sumit (father Nanuram), Ayush (father Rajendra) and Gokul (father Kailash), who had probably gone out for work with their loved ones during the holidays, will never return home.

Pain of losing loved ones: A mountain of sorrow fell on these families
Most of the deceased included women and youth, who belonged to small villages like Nayapura and Semlipura. He has been identified as:
- Nayapur resident: Sunita (42) wife Narayan, Rinku (19) son Kanwarlal, Savitri (30) wife Subhash, Ranjana Singh (20), daughter Ramsingh, Sangeeta (35) wife Pappu, Gokul (15) son Kailash, Ayush (14) son Rajendra, 9 year old Tanu daughter Umesh,
- Semlipura residents: Angoori (35) wife Bhuriya, Bhuri (35) wife Sundar, Ranjana (25) daughter Manish, Kanta Devi (45) husband Uday Singh, Kiran daughter Dinesh, Sumit son Nanuram.
- Rampura resident: Maina (45) wife Krishna and Priya Vishnu.
These women and youth were the economic backbone of their families. Today there is mourning in these villages and sounds of crying are coming from every house.

Relief work on war footing in the hospital: Commissioner and Minister reached the spot
Indore Division Commissioner Dr. Sudam Khade and Union Minister of State Savitri Thakur immediately visited District Bhoj Hospital. The commissioner confirmed that there were about 46 to 50 people in the train, which is much more than the capacity. Seven seriously injured people have been referred to Indore after first aid, where a special team of doctors has been deployed. Orthopedics and fracture facilities in the district hospital have been put on alert.

Expressing grief over the accident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an assistance amount of Rs 2-2 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50-50 thousand to the injured from PMNRF. Big question: Was overloading and negligence the reason?
Administrative officials have found in the initial investigation that instead of 35, about 50 laborers were loaded in the pickup. The deadly combination of overloading and speeding became the main reason for this tragedy. Local residents say that if patrolling and checking on the highway had been stricter, perhaps the lives of these innocent people could have been saved.
