Aamir Khan Admits Being ‘At Peace’ With GF Gauri Spratt, Says Past Marriages With Reena, Kiran Rao Failed

Aamir Khan has spoken about finding happiness with girlfriend Gauri Spratt, while accepting that earlier marriages with Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao did not last.

The 61-year-old actor said the relationship with Gauri makes Aamir feel “complete” and “blessed”, and shared that personal life now shares space with work after decades of career focus.

The comments came in a recent conversation with Navbharat Times, cited by Hindustan Times, where Aamir reflected on love, past relationships and mistakes. Aamir explained that while the bonds with Reena and Kiran were meaningful, circumstances changed over time. Aamir added that the connection with Gauri brings peace and a sense of emotional fulfilment.

Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt: relationship and personal life

During the interview, Aamir described how grateful Aamir feels about this new chapter with Gauri Spratt. “I am very lucky that I met Gauri and our relationship started together. She is great, I feel at peace with her. Although my relationship with (ex-wives) Kiran (Rao) and Reena (Dutta) was also very deep, but things didn’t work out.”

Aamir continued, “When you asked, I felt that I am very blessed that Gauri entered my life. We are very happy together. Mujhe lagta hai ab mai jaake mukammal hua hu (I feel complete today).” The actor publicly introduced Gauri on Aamir’s 60th birthday, sharing the relationship with fans for the first time.

Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt: reflections on mistakes and growth

Aamir also used the interview to discuss personal flaws and learning. “I am the way I am. Every person makes mistakes in their life; no one is perfect. If you understand and accept your mistake, it doesn’t make you small. Even I am learning from my own life and mistakes.” Aamir stressed growth depends on honest self-reflection.

Aamir added, “I will always try not to repeat those mistakes, and I grow as a person, and as an actor. This will only happen if I understand and admit my mistakes. I am a very straightforward man, whatever I feel, I say.” The actor linked this approach to both relationships and work choices over the years.

Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt: work-life balance and family history

Looking back at earlier priorities, Aamir admitted that professional commitments long overshadowed time with loved ones. “The one mistake that I have already started rectifying is not giving enough time to my closed ones and relationships. I was only addicted to work, filmmaking, and acting for 30-35 years.” Aamir said this pattern affected personal life and connections.

Aamir shared that the Covid pandemic became a turning point. “I got a chance to examine my life again during Covid pandemic. I wasn’t being able to work at that time, then I realised that I had lost many things and this time would not come again,” Aamir said. Since then, the actor has tried to balance career and relationships more carefully.

Aamir first married Reena Dutta in 1986. The couple have two children, Ira Khan and Junaid Khan. After 16 years of marriage, they divorced in 2002. In 2005, Aamir married filmmaker Kiran Rao. Their son Azad was born through surrogacy. Aamir and Kiran announced their separation in 2021 but continue to share parenting responsibilities.

Despite both divorces, Aamir maintains cordial ties with Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, and has often spoken of mutual respect within the family. With Gauri Spratt now in Aamir’s life, the actor says there is a stronger focus on emotional wellbeing, acknowledging past errors while choosing a more balanced approach to relationships and work.
