Few people know that Aamir Khan’s film was earlier named Hathors Ke Waris. However, director Mansoor Khan found this name very negative and changed it to Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. This name made the film a blockbuster.
It is said that Aamir Khan’s uncle Nasir Hussain had decided to make Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak but he fell ill when the shooting started. Then he asked his son Mansoor Khan to direct the film. Mansoor directed the film and that too on his own terms.
After Mansoor Khan took over as director, he changed the star cast along with the story but there were fights regarding the climax of the film. Mansoor wanted the story to have a painful ending but father Nasir wanted the ending to be happy. Mansoor did not agree and the story became tragic and this made the movie a blockbuster.
After the release of the film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, it was remade in 4 languages. Remade in Telugu as Akkada Ammai Ikkada Abbai, Pawan Kalyan’s first film. It was remade in Bangladesh as Qayamat Theke Qayamat. It was also made in Sinhala as Dalu Lana Gini. Yug Dekhi was remade in Nepali as Yug Samma.
