On this auspicious day, after taking bath, wear clean clothes and pledge to fast and clean the temple of the house and light a lamp. After this install the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu and Lord Parshuram. Offer sandalwood, akshat, flowers and basil leaves during the puja. After this, reciting Vishnu Sahastranam or Parashuram Stotra is considered very auspicious. If possible, keep a fast on this day and eat fruits.
