Most dot balls in a match: RCB spinner equals elite IPL record in dominant win over DC

New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) spinner Suyash Sharma equalled the record for the most dot balls bowled in a match in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The leg spinner achieved the feat during RCB’s thumping 9-wicket win over Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Monday, April 27.

Suyash bowled an impressive 20 dot balls in the game as RCB bowlers combined to make a mockery of the DC batting line-up in the game. Pacers Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar ran riot with the new ball in the Powerplay to reduce DC to 8/6 before skittling them out for a paltry 75. RCB chased down the target of 76 runs in just 6.3 overs to register a dominant win.

While Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar were the stars of RCB’s thumping win with seven wickets between them, Suyash etched his name in the record books with his excellent spell. In a great display of precision and control, the RCB spinner conceded 7 runs and picked up 1 wicket off his four overs. He bowled 20 dot deliveries in his spell and picked up the wicket of Kuldeep Yadav.

Suyash equalled the record for most dot balls in an IPL match held by Indian pacer Deepak Chahar. Chahar bowled 20 dot balls in his spell while playing for his former team, Chennai Super Kings, during their clash against the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021.

Delhi Capitals record lowest Powerplay score in stunning capitulation

Delhi Capitals recorded the lowest Powerplay score in IPL history after their stunning capitulation against RCB in the IPL 2026 on Monday. DC managed only 13/6 in the first six overs in the match after being reduced to 8/6 inside four overs. Hazlewood bagged four wickets to win the Player of the Match as RCB eventually bowled out DC for 75 runs.

It was a walk in the park for the visitors in the run chase as Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 23 and Devdutt Padikkal 13-ball 34 not out helped them chase down the target with as many as 81 balls to spare.
