The incident raised the concern of both the passengers and the railway administration for some time, but the matter of relief was that no passenger was injured in this accident. According to railway officials, the train was entering the platform when a trolley of the fourth coach derailed at the diamond crossing. The situation was controlled in time, due to which a major accident was averted.
The accident happened at 7:30 pm
According to the information, Vande Bharat Express (22225 CSMT-Solapur) was reaching Pune station at around 7:30 pm on Monday evening. The train was in slow motion while entering the platform when the trolley of the fourth coach suddenly derailed at the diamond crossing. The incident occurred in the entrance area of the station, where the track structure is more complex than a normal track. For this reason, the railway technical team immediately reached the spot and started investigation.

What is Diamond Crossing, where the accident happened?
Diamond crossing is the part on the railway track, where two different railway lines intersect each other. This is considered a technically sensitive area, as the track joints and movements are more complex here. It is reported that this part of Pune station is already being upgraded under the Yard Remodeling Project of Indian Railways. The process of track improvement and structural changes was already planned.
No passenger was hurt
Railway administration has clarified that there is no information about any passenger being injured in this incident. The situation did not become serious due to the low speed of the train and its proximity to the platform. All passengers were evacuated safely and necessary assistance was provided at the station. Alternative arrangements for passengers

Officials said a plan has been made to shift the passengers to another train (rake) so that they can complete their journey without much delay. Initially it is being linked to the technical complexity of the Diamond Crossing area, but clear reasons will emerge only after the final report.
