BAN vs NZ, 1st T20I: Bangladesh team continues its dominance in the home series against New Zealand. After winning the ODI series, Bangladesh also defeated New Zealand in the first T20. In the first T20 match played in Chattogram, New Zealand, batting first, scored 182 runs in 20 overs, in reply Bangladesh achieved this target 12 balls earlier. Bangladesh won the match by 6 wickets and while chasing, its batsmen showed amazing aggressive play. Bangladesh hit 10 sixes and 11 fours.

Tauhid Hridoy played an important role in Bangladesh winning the match, who played an unbeaten inning of 51 runs in 27 balls. This player hit 3 sixes and 2 fours in his innings. Parvez Hussain Emon scored 28 runs in 14 balls and Shamim Hussain played an inning of 31 runs in 13 balls. In bowling, Rishad Hussain showed the magic of his leg spin and took 2 wickets for 32 runs in 4 overs. Mehdi Hasan, Tanzim Saqib and Shoriful Islam took 1 wicket each.
Tauhid Hridoy was given the Player of the Match award for his excellent innings. After Bangladesh’s victory, captain Liton Das credited the team’s batting for the victory. He praised Tauhid. Litton said that the target of 183 runs was big on the Chattogram ground because there is not much bounce on the pitch here. The way Amon, Tauhid and Shamim batted is amazing. However, Liton Das said that he is hopeful that he will get a good pitch in the coming time.
Clarke-Cleaver’s half-centuries went in vain
For New Zealand, openers Kitan Clarke and Dan Cleaver played brilliant innings. Both scored 51-51 runs. Apart from him, captain Nick Kelly played an inning of 39 runs in 27 balls. Josh Clarkson scored a quick 27 runs in 14 balls in the last overs and took the team’s score to 182, but his innings proved to be in vain in the end. Bangladesh team is now ahead 1-0 in the series. Now the second match between the two teams will be held in Chittagong on 29th April. The third T20 will be played in Dhaka on 2 May.
