What is the exact date of Pradosh Vrat?
According to the Panchang, the Trayodashi tithi of Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month will start from 06:52 pm on Tuesday, 28th April, which will continue till 07:51 pm on the next day i.e. Wednesday, 29th April, at 07:51 pm. Since in Pradosh Vrat, Lord Shiva is worshiped in the evening and this situation is being created on 28th April, Tuesday, then this Vrat will be observed on this day. Due to Pradosh fast being observed on Tuesday, it will be called Mangal Pradosh.

28 April 2026 Pradosh Vrat Puja auspicious time
According to Ujjain’s astrologer Pt. Praveen Dwivedi, on Tuesday, April 28, the auspicious time for the worship of Pradosh Vrat will start from 06:54 pm and will continue till 09:04 pm. That means devotees will get full time of 02 hours 10 minutes for worship. On this day, two auspicious yogas named Prajapati and Soumya will also be formed, due to which the importance of this fast will be considered even more.
Perform Budh Pradosh fast and worship with this method
– On the morning of Tuesday, April 28, after taking bath, take a resolution to fast and worship.
– Do not eat anything throughout the day, do not lie to anyone and do not get angry at anyone.
– Start the puja at an auspicious time, before that keep the puja material at one place.
– Anoint Shivling with water, then with cow’s milk and then with pure water.
– Offer things like flowers, Dhatura and Bilva leaves etc. to Lord Shiva one by one.
– During the puja, keep chanting Om Namah Shivay mantra in your mind.
– Offer offerings as per your wish and perform Aarti of Lord Mahadev with your family.
– After Pradosh Puja, donate to the needy and eat satvik food.
– Follow celibacy at night. If possible, sleep on the ground only.
– In this way, by observing Pradosh fast with devotion, all the wishes can be fulfilled.
