Aamir Khan gets emotional at son Junaid’s new film ‘Ek Din’ launch with Sai Pallavi

Hindi film superstar Aamir Khan kicked off promotions for his son Junaid Khan’s upcoming film Ek Din with a grand musical evening. The event also saw the film’s heroine, noted South Indian actress Sai Pallavi make her first public appearance for the film, which also marks her much-anticipated debut in Hindi cinema.

Speaking at the event, Aamir was full of praise for the leading lady, stating, “For me, Sai Pallavi is the best actress we have in the country today.” The statement instantly drew a loud applause from the audience.

Sai Pallavi, addressing the gathering in Hindi, said, “When I look back at my journey in the industry, I don’t know what work I’ve done, but I feel happy that whatever I’ve done brings me to a room filled with such talented people. I end up feeling humbled.”

Expressing gratitude, she added, “Today is an emotional day for me. I am so grateful for this entire journey. Thank you Aamir sir for making me a part of this film. Junaid was a wonderful co-star.”  Sai Pallavi, often referred to as the ‘National Crush’, will be seen as goddess Sita in the upcoming Nitesh Tiwari’s film on the epic, Ramayana.

The evening took a turn when the team discussed the film’s exploration of many stages of love, a moment that left Aamir visibly emotional. The actor also treated the audience to a live performance of the film’s title track alongside singer Meghna Mishra. In a lighter moment, the actor-filmmaker humorously asked for another take after the performance, before composer Ram Sampath stepped in to stop him.

Aamir also lauded debut director Sunil Pandey for his dedication and passion, recalling their past collaborations on films like Rang De Basanti (2006), Taare Zameen Par (2007) and Delhi Belly (2011) before Pandey stepped into the director’s chair. Shot in Japan, Ek Din, a romantic drama, is set for a theatrical release on May 1.
