Veteran actor Bharat Kapoor passes at Mumbai hospital

Mumbai: Veteran actor Bharat Kapoor passed away at the age of 80 in Mumbai due to cardiac arrest. A well-known face in both the film and television industry, he breathed his last at around 3:30 pm at Sion Hospital in the city.

His last rites were performed in the evening in the presence of family members and close friends.
The chautha ceremony of the actor will be held on April 30 from 5 pm to 7 pm at North Bombay Association (Punjab Association), Bhau Daji Marg, near Sion Hospital.

The actor remained active on screen through 1970s and 1990s. Over the years, he portrayed roles of supporting characters, villains and roles of police officers, lawyers, among others. Among his notable films include Noorie (1979), Ram Balram (1980), Love Story (1981), Bazaar (1982), Ghulami (1985), Aakhree Raasta (1986), Satyamev Jayate (1987), Swarg (1990), Khuda Gawah (1992), and Rang (1993).

He was also seen in films like Barsaat (1995), Saajan Chale Sasural (1996), and later Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities (2004), reflecting his long-standing contribution to Hindi cinema. Apart from them, he was also seen in Zee horror show Parampara Bhagya vidhata.
