Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has advised to avoid the scorching heat. He said that he does not run AC even in 51 degrees Celsius and keeps onions in his pocket to avoid heatstroke. Scindia called it a traditional method.

Shivpuri: In many parts of the country the mercury is crossing 50 degrees. Amidst this deadly heat, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has given a strange advice to the people. He said, “There is no need for AC. I don’t run AC in my car or office. I stay like this even in the 51 degree heat of May-June.” Scindia told that to save himself from the heat, he keeps an onion in his pocket. He said that this is a very old habit.

He also reminded that even though Ayurveda is progressing, we should not forget such traditional methods. Scindia claimed that his skin is ‘Chambal skin’, that is why he can tolerate such intense heat. He further said, “I may look young, but my soul is very old. I believe in old things.”

This statement of Scindia came on the day when the Meteorological Department had warned that the heat wave would intensify in the coming days in many states including Madhya Pradesh. At present, the temperature in most parts of the country remains between 40 to 46 degrees. Recently the mercury was recorded at 46.9 degrees Celsius in Akola, Maharashtra. Even in areas like Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, the heat is increasing abnormally.
