Delhi Capitals scored 264 runs against Punjab Kings but despite this they had to face defeat. After the end of the match, Delhi captain Akshar Patel appeared disappointed.
He said that the team deserved this and we have lost. He blamed his bowlers and fielders for this defeat. Punjab achieved the target of 265 runs with 7 balls remaining.
Akshar believes that if the fielders had supported the bowlers, the match might have been won. He says that the score of 264 runs was enough on such a pitch but due to mistakes the team could not win. Punjab made the biggest chase in IPL history in the match. Earlier, no team had achieved the target of 265 runs and this was the reason why Akshar was looking disappointed.
Akshar Patel looked disappointed after the match
Speaking in the post-match presentation, Patel said, “Looking at the kind of wicket it was, if you don’t support the bowlers and keep losing chances, then perhaps we deserved to lose. This pitch was very good and the field was also small, due to which sixes were inevitable. On a wicket like this, if you don’t support the bowlers, it becomes difficult. We also have to focus on our bowling. Our bowling in the powerplay, the performance of the fast bowlers, Fielding and the chances we missed were the main reasons for the defeat.”
The DC captain further said, a score of 264 was very good on such a wicket. If we look at the positive side, we scored 264 runs, which is a record score in the Indian Premier League. If a little bit of luck favors you and you catch the catch, you can win two or three matches in a row. If we look at the matches we have lost, they were very close. If we had caught the catch, the result could have gone in our favor and we could have won.
