Akshay Kumar’s Daughter Harassment Case: The Maharashtra Cyber Department has confirmed the arrest of a suspect accused of harassing the minor daughter of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar.
The update was shared by Yashasvi Yadav, the Additional Director General of Police, during a recent cyber awareness session held at a college in Mumbai.
The case involves Nitara Kumar, who was reportedly targeted while playing an online multiplayer game. According to the police, the interaction began under the guise of friendly competition but quickly turned into a shocking case of attempted sextortion. The details of the incident were first brought to light by Akshay Kumar in October 2025 during a public event focused on digital safety. The actor explained that his daughter was playing a game with a stranger when she began receiving messages that appeared polite and respectful.
Recalling the sequence of events, Akshay Kumar stated, “My daughter was playing a video game. There are some video games that you can play with someone, but you are playing with an unknown stranger. When you are playing, you get a message saying, ‘Thank you, that was great’ or ‘You are doing so good’, very courteous messages. Suddenly, the person said, ‘Where are you from?’ She wrote, ‘Mumbai’. And then everything was normal again.”
The Bhooth Bangla actor further added, “Then a message came, ‘Are you male or female?’ She replied, ‘Female’. It went on. And then, he sent a message, ‘Can you send me a nude picture of yours?’ My daughter, she switched off the whole thing. She went and told my wife. It was great that she went and spoke to my wife about it.”
During the awareness session, ADG Yashasvi Yadav praised Nitara’s bravery in immediately reporting the incident to her parents, which allowed the authorities to track down the suspect. He noted, “He (Akshay Kumar) had a very shocking story to share with us. He said that his own daughter was being sextorted. The girl was very brave and informed her parents. Through her parents, we received this information, and that is how we handled the case.”
The Bhool Bhulaiyaa actor has since used this distressing experience to advocate for better digital education. He highlighted how such interactions are often the starting point for cybercrime, leading to extortion or even more tragic consequences. Akshay Kumar has reportedly urged government officials, including Devendra Fadnavis, to introduce mandatory cybercrime awareness classes in schools. The investigation into the arrested suspect is ongoing.
