How is this path made?
This path is formed between Jindo and Modo islands of South Korea due to the state of tide. You might have read about this in the book also. This is the situation when the sea water rises and falls. Actually this process happens due to the pull of gravity. Tide is the process in which sea water rises, that is, waves become higher. In reflux the water falls down and in this situation the water moves back. This is a process that takes some time. Because of this, this path is not permanent, but is made for a few hours.
When will this road be built?
This path in the middle of the sea is usually built twice a year. The length of the road is approximately 2.8 km and the width is approximately 40 meters. People also walk on this path, but it is very important to keep time in mind. People can walk on this route only for 1 hour.
Festival is celebrated
A festival is also organized at the time of dividing the sea into two parts and forming a path in the middle, which is known as ‘Jindo Sea Parting Festival’. This incident is also called “Miracle of Korean Moses”. Many times this surprising incident happens even at the end of April. During this festival, a large number of people gather and many activities are also done like collecting shells, Jindo Arirang i.e. local folk songs, cultural programs are also held.
