NDA’s ‘Mangal Milan’ meeting
New Delhi [भारत]July 20 (ANI): The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party will hold its weekly strategy meeting at the Parliament Library Building on Tuesday morning. This meeting has now been officially named ‘Mangal Milan’. G.M.C. This meeting to be held at Balayogi Auditorium at 9:30 am will serve a dual purpose.
According to sources, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju will formally welcome the new BJP Rajya Sabha members, including former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MPs. Simultaneously, the alliance partners will pass a resolution congratulating Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest serving elected Prime Minister, after which the Prime Minister himself will deliver a keynote address.
TMC’s rebel group NCPI will stay away from the meeting
Although the purpose of this meeting is to show the complete unity of the alliance, the newly formed Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) will not attend this joint session. This party includes 20 rebel MPs of Trinamool Congress (TMC) who are with the NDA. Since the Speaker of the Lok Sabha has not yet given formal recognition to the merger of this group under the banner of NCPI, the group is stuck procedurally.

The rebel group held its first independent parliamentary party meeting on Sunday under the leadership of veteran MP Sudip Bandopadhyay. The group confirmed that their arrangement of seats, division numbers, and separate legislative blocks in the House layout has been officially accepted. NCPI leader Sudip Bandopadhyay addressed the first parliamentary meeting. Bandopadhyay clarified that although the group is fully supporting the ruling coalition, their top priority is the smooth functioning of the House and governance of local constituencies in West Bengal, and not taking local territorial disputes to New Delhi.
Bandopadhyay said, “Today was the first time the NCPI Parliamentary Party meeting was held. This meeting was of the utmost importance for us. Our allocation of seats, division numbers and separate blocks has been accepted. We have decided to extend our support to the NDA government, and whatever issues are put up for discussion, we will take part in them. We have also decided that we still believe that the House should function, and if any member has any difficulty with regard to his constituency in the state of West Bengal, we will raise the issue.” Will raise it with the Chief Minister of West Bengal. Those issues are not to be managed by taking them to Delhi.”
The monsoon session of Parliament began on Monday and is scheduled to continue till August 13. The session will also mark the parliamentary debut of the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI), which was formed by 20 rebel Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs by merging their faction and aligning with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
