Sabrina Carpenter surprises fans with Madonna duet at Coachella

It was a busy second weekend for Carpenter as she brought out Geena Davis and Terry Crews for cameos while headlining Coachella. During her song Juno, when she usually ‘arrests’ a celebrity, the singer brought out Madonna for an epic duet of her classic songs. Madonna joined her on stage to belt out Vogue and Like a Prayer and introduced an unnamed song from her next album, coming out on July 3, 2026. Confessions II is a sequel to Confessions on a Dance Floor, which came out in 2005.

While on stage with Carpenter, Madonna shared that two decades ago she had performed a song from Confessions on a Dance Floor at Coachella, and coming back to perform a snippet from its sequel was a full-circle moment for her. She told the rapt audience, “[It’s] very meaningful for me.”

The pop star was a surprise guest with Carpenter as she came back to Coachella after a decade. The duo matched in corsets and heels. While Carpenter’s white bodysuit was largely made of lace, Madonna wore a purple corset and dark thigh-high boots, which she wore the last time she performed at Coachella. Madonna had also donned aviator shades, which she threw to a lucky fan in the audience.

Confessions II is Madonna’s 15th studio album, which will continue to explore dance and electronic music. Madonna reunites with producer Stuart Price, who co-wrote and produced Confessions on a Dance Floor.

Sabrina Carpenter’s Coachella 2026

The Manchild singer is headlining at Coachella two years after first performing at the festival. She sang songs from her latest two albums, Man’s Best Friend and Short ‘n Sweet. But it was the celebrity appearances that made her set viral.

On April 10, before her performance, she introduced a short film that featured actors Sam Elliott and Will Ferrell. Samuel L. Jackson had a voice cameo as a spiritual guide and Susan Sarandon essayed the part of an older Sabrina. On her second weekend, she brought out Sarandon’s Thelma and Louise co-star Davis to complete the reference.
