Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai inaugurated ‘Sian Gudi’ day-care center in Jashpur. This center will provide facilities like yoga, health check-up, entertainment and skill development for the elderly. Its objective is to provide a dignified and active life to senior citizens.
Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today inaugurated the state-of-the-art day-care center ‘Sian Gudi’ built for senior citizens in Jashpur. On this occasion, he played carrom with the elders and encouraged them and had a cordial conversation with them. All the seniors looked very happy to have the Chief Minister among them and expressed gratitude to the state government for this initiative.
Honoring the Elders: Food Baskets and Gift Distribution
During the programme, the Chief Minister distributed food baskets to the elderly. He was also honored by presenting him a religious book, shawl and quince. He said that it is the primary responsibility of the government to respect and take care of senior citizens in the society.
Challenges of the elderly in the changing society
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Chhattisgarh is known for its cultural traditions and family values. But in changing times, the number of nuclear families is increasing, youth are migrating for employment and due to busy lifestyle, many elderly people remain alone during the day. He told that this loneliness not only has a negative impact on emotional but also mental and physical health.
Concept and objective of ‘Syan Gudi’
Keeping these challenges in mind, ‘Day Care Center – Sian Gudi’ has been started. The center will provide a safe, respectful and active environment for the elderly. Here they will be able to spend time throughout the day and feel new energy and enthusiasm. While inspecting the centre, the Chief Minister appreciated its facilities and described it as an ideal initiative.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that through ‘Syan Gudi’ the government has taken a big step towards making the lives of senior citizens more respectable and happy. This initiative will strengthen harmony in the society and will also give new energy to family values.
Modern facilities available in ‘Syan Gudi’
Located on Bhagalpur Road behind Ranjeeta Stadium, Jashpur, this center has been developed as a holistic day-care unit for senior citizens. The following facilities will be available here:
- Yoga, Pranayam and Exercise
- Entertainment, cultural and community activities
- Digital and Financial Literacy Program
- Skill Development and Re-skilling
- Primary health checkup and basic medicines
- Tele consultation and health awareness session
- Physiotherapy and exercise facilities
- Provision of health, safety and legal aid
The center will also provide legal and family counseling facilities for senior citizens. If an elderly person is neglected or abused, they can contact the national helpline number 14567 and the state level Cyan helpline 155326.
