Patralekhaa body-shamed: Actor-producer Patralekhaa has strongly criticised online body-shaming after facing insensitive comments about her appearance following childbirth. The backlash surfaced soon after a recent screening of her Netflix film Toaster, where several social media pages commented on her post-pregnancy body.

Patralekhaa, who recently welcomed her daughter with actor Rajkummar Rao, addressed the criticism through a candid Instagram Story. The actor did not hold back while calling out what she described as unfair and unrealistic expectations placed on new mothers.

Patralekhaa slams body-shaming after childbirth

“Pap pages! What’s happened to me!? is that I have just given birth! Yes I have gained the weight, which seems like an unnatural phenomenon to you all,” she wrote.

She further explained that motherhood and work have overlapped during an intense phase in her life. “I have not sat and eaten a mountain, I just delivered a baby and produced two films simultaneously which are not easy jobs.”

The actor added that pregnancy affects every woman differently and urged people to show empathy. “If I could I would not be this way. But that’s how my body has reacted to pregnancy. For God’s sake please learn to be a little kind.”
