Misleading narrative spread through social media
According to Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh, the situation was calmed down during the protest on April 13. But after this, an attempt was made again to spoil the atmosphere by spreading false information through two social media accounts. Through these accounts, rumors were spread that workers had died in police firing. Such misleading tweets quickly went viral, increasing anger among the returning workers and making the situation tense again.
Accounts were being operated from Pakistan
During the investigation, the police got important information. According to details received from Twitter, both these social media accounts were being operated from Pakistan. Their IP addresses and internet connections have also been found to be linked to Pakistan. Not only this, these handles were using VPN to hide their identity. A case has been registered in this matter at Sector-20 police station and further investigation is going on.
Situation normal in Noida, workers returned to work
Police Commissioner said that there has been complete peace in Noida for the last two days. Police also conducted a flag march to maintain law and order. Also, workers in industrial units have returned to work normally in one to three shifts. There is satisfaction among the workers due to the decision of Uttar Pradesh government to increase the minimum wage and constitute a wage board.
Police appeal: Be careful of rumors
