Stocks to watch today: Waaree Renewable, VST industries, CESC and more in focus

Kolkata: The markets went down on Thursday after the spirited rally on Wednesday.  On Thursday, April 16, Sensex 30 closed at 77,988.68, down 122.56 or 0.16% while the broader Nifty 50 closed at 24,196.75, down 34.55 or 0.14%. Several stocks are expected to be in focus of investors today due to a variety of developments including the Q4FY26 results. Let’s have a look at some of these stocks. Among the companies which will be announcing their Q4FY26 results today are Jio Financial Services, Bajaj Consumer Care, Aditya Birla Money, Mastek, Blue Blends (India), Eco Hotels and Resorts, Hathway Cable & Datacom and Infomedia Press.

Stocks in focus

Wipro: Software major Wipro has announced a share buyback of Rs 15,000 crore which promise a 19% premium over Thursday’s closing price. This comes amid lackluster Q4 results. Q4 profit fell 1.9% Y0Y to Rs 3,501.8 crore against Rs 3,569.6 crore in same period last year. Revenue grew 7.7% to Rs 24,236.3 crore against Rs 22,504.2 crore. Q1FY27 guidance says dollar revenue seen at $2,597-2,651 million Vs $2,651 million (QoQ), which constitutes a quarter of no growth.

HDFC Life Insurance: In Q4 results, net profit rose 4.65% to Rs 497.5 crore compared to Rs 475.4 crore and net premium income rose 9% to Rs 25,998.4 crore against Rs 23,843 crore. But value of new business declined 8.4% to Rs 1,261 crore against Rs 1,376 crore in the same period last year.

Waaree Renewable Technologies: In Q4 net profit surged 66% to Rs 155.7 crore against Rs 93.8 crore in same period a year ago and revenue jumped 131.3% to Rs 1,102.4 crore against Rs 476.6 crore.

VST Industries: Net profit surged 120.2% to Rs 116.7 crore in Q4FY26 against Rs 53 crore in the same period a year ago. Revenue grew 30.9% to Rs 457 crore compared to Rs 349.2 crore

CESC: It has concluded power purchase agreements with Vismaya Renewables India Project, Hexa Climate Solutions, Purvah Green Power, and Sprng Energy for procurement of power from grid-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects.

RVNL: It emerged as the lowest bidder for the construction of the 3rd and 4th lines between Nergundi–Barang and Khurda Road–Vizianagaram on the Bhadrak–Vizianagaram section. The project is worth Rs 967.92 crore.

Axis Bank: On April 25, the board will explore whether it can raise funds by issuing equity shares or any other instrument. It will also annoiunce the Q4FY26 results on that day.

Sudarshan Chemical Industries: Nippon India Mutual Fund has bought 13.82 lakh shares or 1.76% stake in it for Rs 111.95 crore. Theleme India Master Fund has purchased 4 lakh shares or 0.5% stake for Rs 32.4 crore. The rate was Rs 810 per share.

Zee Entertainment: Vanguard International Value Fund sold 49.58 lakh shares or 0.51% stake) in this company at Rs 80.36 per share and the deal was valued at Rs 39.84 crore.
