Maharashtra: ‘He did not do..’, AIMIM distances itself from minor physical abuse suspect Ayaz

New Delhi: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has distanced itself from 19-year-old youth Mohammad Ayaz Tanvir, the prime accused in Amravati sexual abuse case. Tanvir is accused of sexually abusing around 100 minor girls and allegedly recording their videos and circulating them.

The incident reportedly took place in Paratwada area of Amravati district in Maharashtra. The accused allegedly trapped the minor by befriending them and then allegedly exploited them.

“The accused is a former functionary of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen. The accused was appointed as media head during the Achalpur Municipal Council elections. He did not do any work for the party throughout the election period. Therefore, he was removed from the party,” claimed Syed Mujib, Amravati District President, AIMIM.

The AIMIM said it has no association with the man at the heart of raging sexual abuse controversy.
