According to Ujjain’s astrologer Pt. Praveen Dwivedi, on Wednesday, April 15, the auspicious time for the worship of Pradosh Vrat will start from 06:47 pm and will continue till 09 pm. That means devotees will get full time of 02 hours 14 minutes for worship. On this day, three auspicious yogas named Brahma, Indra and Padma will also be formed, due to which the importance of this fast will be considered even more.
On Wednesday, April 15, wake up early in the morning, take bath etc. and after that, take a resolution of fasting and worship with water, rice and flowers in hand. Follow the rules of fasting throughout the day i.e. do not eat food. Do not lie to anyone or get angry at anyone. Before the auspicious time, collect the worship materials at one place. When the auspicious time starts, first anoint the Shivalinga with water, then with cow’s milk and then with pure water. After this, offer things like flowers, Dhatura and Bilva leaves etc. one by one to Mahadev. While worshiping, keep chanting Om Namah Shivay mantra continuously in your mind. After offering food as per your wish, perform Aarti of Lord Mahadev along with your family. After puja, you can also donate to the needy. After this eat satvik food. Follow celibacy at night.
