Manufacturing activity was also disrupted, in the area where workers protested, companies like Dixon Technologies, Optimus Electronics, Lava International, Oppo, Vivo and Samsung run large manufacturing facilities, which make smartphones and many types of consumer electronics. Executives of electronics manufacturing companies told Moneycontrol that good labor availability in Noida has been an important factor in attracting large-scale investment.

For the last few years, Noida’s hosiery and garment sector is rapidly emerging as the country’s largest export hub. Here clothes are produced on a large scale in thousands of units every day, which directly reach the global markets. According to Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC), garments worth about Rs 55,000 crore are exported from Noida every year.

The industry is working to increase exports by 30 percent. The industry aims to increase it to Rs 75,000 crore by the year 2030. At the same time, according to industry association and media reports, more than 800 exporters and more than 4000 manufacturing units related to this sector are working in Noida and Greater Noida.

This is the reason why the role of this cluster in the global supply chain is continuously becoming stronger. Further expansion plans are also going to give new momentum to this sector. According to textile industry reports, there is a possibility of investment of more than Rs 8,000 crore in the proposed textile park in Noida, which can also create lakhs of new jobs in the coming time.
