NTA rejects allegations on Re-NEET candidate’s OMR sheet. The agency described the viral image on social media as ‘digitally altered’ and said that the candidate’s result is correct based on his original OMR sheet.
New Delhi [भारत]July 19 (ANI): After allegations regarding re-NEET candidate Avnish Srivastava’s OMR sheet surfaced on social media, and the claims being fueled by the Congress, National Testing Agency (NTA) sources on Saturday said the picture going viral is “a digitally altered version” and the candidate’s result is “as declared” as it is based on his real OMR sheet.
The clarification came after the Congress shared a social media post amplifying the allegations made by the candidate’s father, claiming that the OMR sheet uploaded by the NTA was that of another candidate, “Ajit Singh”, and accusing the agency of irregularities in the conduct of the Re-NEET exam. In this post, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was also criticized for the functioning of NTA.
NTA rejected the allegations
Responding to the allegations, NTA sources said, “The picture being circulated on social media is not the OMR sheet present in the records of NTA. It is a digitally altered version.”
Sources further said that the circulated photo contained “wrong serial numbers, spelling mistakes in the instructions at the top of the sheet, and incorrect field labels”. He further said that the name “Ajit Singh, S/o Shri Lakhan Singh & Smt. Reena Singh,” visible in the viral image, “does not match with any candidate registered for NEET (UG) 2026.”
Written reply sent to the family
According to sources, the complaint submitted by the candidate’s family had already been investigated. “A written reply has been sent to the family, placing the findings of the investigation on record and a copy of the original OMR sheet has been attached. The result is as declared as it is based on the candidate’s own original OMR sheet,” he said.
These allegations came days after the announcement of Re-NEET results, with social media users raising questions over the authenticity of the candidate’s uploaded OMR sheets. NTA has said that there has been no change in the official records and the viral picture does not match its records. (ANI)
