8th Pay Commission: Central employees can get 2.86 fitment factor…salary will increase by this much

There is good news for central employees and pensioners. Their pension and salary may increase in the 8th Pay Commission. Shiv Gopal Mishra, Secretary of National Council of Joint Consultative Machinery (NC-JCM), an organization working for the welfare of employees, has recently talked about increasing the fitment factor. He has suggested the government to increase the fitment factor to 2.86. If this happens, the minimum salary of central employees will become Rs 51,451.

In view of the rising inflation rate in the country, the Secretary of NC-JCM has demanded from the government to increase the fitment factor in the 8th Pay Commission to 2.86. In the last i.e. 7th Pay Commission, it was recommended to increase the fitment factor to 2.57, which was accepted by the Central Government. After that the minimum salary of government employees increased from Rs 7,000 to Rs 17,900. This time there has been a demand to increase the fitment factor to 2.86. If this demand is accepted, the minimum wage of the employees will increase from Rs 17,990 to Rs 51,451. However, no official statement has come from the government regarding this. At the same time, the minimum salary will increase to Rs 34,000-35,000. On such news, Shiv Gopal Mishra said that this news is false. We are demanding to increase the fitment factor to 2.86.

What is fitment factor?

Fitment factor is the coefficient with the help of which the government revises the salary and pension. On this basis the salary is increased. When 7th Pay Commission was implemented. Even then the fitment factor was recommended to be 2.57. This time also the government has been suggested to increase the fitment factor, which is said to be appropriate considering the rising rate of inflation.

When will the 8th pay commission be made?

No statement has been issued yet by the government regarding the 8th Pay Commission. But, it is believed that it will be formed in the year 2026. All government employees and pensioners are expecting major amendments in the 8th Pay Commission.
