8 killed, 25 injured as train collides with bus, sparks fire in Bangkok

New Delhi: Eight people were killed and 25 others injured after a collision involving a train and a public bus triggered a massive fire in Bangkok on Saturday, according to rescue officials and police, Reuters reported.

Authorities said the crash also involved several cars and motorcycles, with flames quickly spreading to nearby vehicles. Firefighters and rescue teams rushed to the spot as thick smoke engulfed the area.

Rescue personnel pulled injured victims from the wreckage while fire crews battled the blaze with water hoses. Officials later confirmed that the fire had been brought under control, with teams continuing cooling operations, gas ventilation and searches for possible victims.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
