Shaw had scored 240 runs batting brilliantly on the very first day and captain Rahane was unbeaten on 73 runs. The next day too, both of them showed no mercy to the Assam bowlers and Shaw scored the first triple century of his domestic career. Whereas captain Rahane missed out on scoring a double century by 7 runs. Mumbai declared the first innings after scoring 687 runs for 4 wickets.

Mumbai’s big win

Assam’s batsmen proved to be a complete failure in front of Mumbai’s lethal bowling attack. Assam’s top order batsmen scored runs but after that no batsman could do anything and Assam’s first innings was reduced to 370 runs. Mumbai gave follow on to Assam and in that too Assam’s batsmen could not do much. Captain Gokul Sharma scored 82 runs but he could not avoid the defeat and Mumbai won the match by an innings and 128 runs.
