5 new cars launched in India in August 2026: Mahindra Scorpio N, MG Hector Tomahawk EV, BMW X1 LWB and more

Indian automobile market witnessed several important launches in August 2026, with manufacturers introducing new SUVs, electric vehicles and updated models across different price segments. From the BMW X1 LWB to the new MG Hector Tomahawk, here are five notable cars launched in India this month.

⁠BMW X1 LWB

BMW launched the X1 Long Wheelbase in India on August 21, expanding its entry-level SUV lineup with a more spacious version of the X1. The model is priced from ₹49.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and gets a longer body aimed at offering additional rear-seat space.

Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq

Mahindra introduced the BE 6 Sporteq on August 15 as a new version of its electric SUV. The model starts at around ₹15.45 lakh, according to current launch listings, and brings additional equipment and styling updates to the BE 6 lineup.

MG Hector Tomahawk EV

JSW MG Motor India launched the Hector Tomahawk EV on August 26. The electric SUV gets a 69.2kWh battery and offers a claimed range of 517km. It is available in five- and seven-seat configurations and gets features such as a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS.

Mahindra Scorpio N facelift

Scorpio N facelift gets features including a panoramic sunroof, 540-degree camera, updated infotainment and new 18-inch alloy wheels, while retaining its existing petrol and diesel engines.

Skoda Slavia facelift

Skoda also unveiled the Slavia facelift in August, bringing revised styling, updated lighting elements, new alloy wheels and additional features. The facelift retains the existing 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI engines, while an automatic gearbox is expected to expand across the range. Bookings have opened, with prices expected to be announced later.

With these launches, August has been another busy month for India’s passenger vehicle market, particularly in the SUV and electric vehicle segments.
