Indian prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi produced a dramatic, action-packed cameo during the early overs of the IND vs ZIM 2nd T20I 2026 against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club on Saturday, 25 July 2026. The 15-year-old left-hander smashed Zimbabwean fast bowler Richard Ngarava for 18 runs across four consecutive deliveries-hitting a four, a six, and two more boundaries-before miscuing a short delivery to mid-on to end his brief but entertaining innings.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s Blitz
After India lost opening partner Abhishek Sharma cheaply in the second over, Sooryavanshi took the attack to Ngarava during the third over of the innings.
On the second ball of the over, Sooryavanshi opened his arms to drive Ngarava through the covers for four.He followed it up with a powerful pull shot over the leg-side boundary for six, before collecting back-to-back boundaries on the fourth and fifth balls.
Sooryavanshi (20) stepped out of his crease to loft the ball down the ground, but succeeded only in slicing a top edge into the air.Fielder Blessing Muzarabani backpedalled from mid-on to complete a comfortable catch, ending the teenager’s nine-ball blitz.
Sooryavanshi’s high-risk cameo follows his standout performance in Thursday’s series opener, where he smashed the youngest-ever T20I half-century-a 19-ball 50-to lead India to a comfortable seven-wicket victory.
