New Delhi [भारत]July 26 (ANI): The third edition of the three-day India CPSEs Mentoring Conclave 2026 on Project and Asset Management successfully concluded at Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) Vadodara. It included in-depth discussions on strengthening project execution, asset management and organizational excellence in Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) in the energy and mining sectors.
According to the Railway Ministry, the event on Saturday was jointly organized by the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) and the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), Ministry of Finance, Government of India, with Gati Shakti University (GSV) as the strategic knowledge partner. The conclave was attended by policy makers, industry leaders, academicians as well as senior CPSE officials to exchange best practices and pave the way forward in support of Develop India 2047.
Main topics and discussions of the conference
It included detailed discussions on the use of PM Gati Shakti platform in planning, DPR, contracts, land acquisition, asset life cycle management, adoption of deep tech technologies and formulating an implementable CPSE reform agenda.
Major participants included
A total of 39 representatives from NTPC, Coal India, Bharat Coking Coal, BPCL, HPCL, Indian Oil, ONGC, ONGC Videsh, Oil India, MRPL, GAIL, SAIL, MECON, NMDC, Hindustan Copper, NALCO, NHPC, SJVN and Power Grid Corporation of India participated in the conclave.
Experts’ views in the inaugural session
During the inauguration, Chief Guest Dr. Mangu Singh (Former MD, DMRC) described contract management as an important aspect for the success of projects. Honored guest Shri K. Moses Chalai (Secretary, DPE) highlighted the need for innovative and data-driven approaches to asset and project management.
Closing session and future plans
Addressing the concluding session, GSV Vice Chancellor Prof. Manoj Chaudhary said that the conclave has created a strong momentum for collaborative learning and fostered a culture of informed and data-driven decision making. He highlighted the growing contribution of GSVs in capacity building in railways, highways, aviation, maritime, logistics and other infrastructure sectors. Referring to the MoU signed between GSV and CBC, he reiterated that this program marks the continuation of a long-term CBC-GSV partnership, which aims to strengthen professional capacity in the country’s infrastructure ecosystem.
Delivering the valedictory address, Dr. Alka Mittal, Member (Administration, CBC) expressed satisfaction at the lively discussions amongst the speakers, industry experts and CPSE participants. It discussed why some projects run late and how culture, discipline, policy enablement and technology can correct them. He reiterated that CBC, in collaboration with GSV, will publish an India CPSE compendium of best practices based on the recommendations that emerged in this programme. Dr. Alka Mittal and Vice Chancellor Prof. Manoj Chaudhary and Prof. Kaushik Das appreciated the efforts made by GSV as a knowledge partner and thanked him for making this program a huge success. He expressed keenness to continue the collaborative efforts between CBC and GSV towards building infrastructure capacity for a developed India 2047. (ANI)
