
State Tax Additional Commissioner Bhupendra Shukla of Ghaziabad was suspended for refunding GST of crores of rupees in a fake way. About 10 years ago, during the posting of Deputy Commissioner in Kanpur, he did this rigging, then the VAT system was applicable in the state.
The state government suspended Additional Commissioner Bhupendra Shukla for irregularities in VAT assessment. Currently he was the Additional Commissioner of Ghaziabad Zone-2. This rigging was done during the deployment of the post of Deputy Commissioner in Kanpur section eight, when without demand, he released about 3.50 crore rupees to a firm.
Principal Secretary M. Devraj got the complaint
Special Secretary State Tax Shyam Prakash Narayan issued his suspension order. Bhupendra Shukla will be affiliated to the Commissioner’s Office during the suspension period. The investigation of this case has been handed over to Principal Secretary Stamp Amit Gupta. It is known that Principal Secretary M. Devraj had received a complaint against Bhupendra Shukla that he is involved in corruption. Complaints were found correct in confidential investigation.
Investigation of the role of other officers continues
Investigation revealed that during the posting in Kanpur during the year 2013-14, Additional Commissioner Bhupendra Shukla issued a refund to a businessman on the basis of fake documents. The necessary procedures were not followed while issuing this refund, causing a loss of crores to the government treasury. According to sources, the departmental inquiry is going on further and the role of other officers is also being investigated, who were working in Kanpur at that time.
