Looking for an affordable electric car under Rs 5 lakh? The Blinq RYDE has entered the Indian market with an ex-showroom price starting at Rs 4.50 lakh, making it one of the most affordable electric cars available in the country.
The five-seater micro EV is available in two variants, RYDE Family and RYDE Fleets, with prices going up to Rs 5 lakh. While the Family version is aimed at private buyers, the Fleet variant is designed for commercial and fleet operations.
Blinq RYDE: 250 km range
The biggest highlight of the Blinq RYDE is its claimed driving range. According to the company, the electric car can deliver up to 250 km on a single charge based on MIDC/ARAI-claimed figures.
The compact electric car is designed primarily for urban use, making it suitable for daily commutes, ride-hailing and delivery operations.
Battery swap in under 5 minutes
Instead of relying only on conventional charging, Blinq Mobility offers a Battery as a Service (BaaS) model.
The company’s battery-swapping system allows the depleted battery to be replaced in less than five minutes, significantly reducing the waiting time associated with conventional EV charging.
The RYDE also supports DC fast charging and regular home charging, while its battery pack gets an IP67 rating for water and dust protection.
Blinq RYDE features
Despite its compact dimensions, the RYDE comes with a five-seat cabin and a large glass area designed to make the interior feel more spacious.
Features include a touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, navigation and smartphone connectivity, along with a digital driver display, power windows, keyless entry, automatic climate control and regenerative braking.
The exterior gets LED DRLs, a closed-off front grille and aerodynamic styling. Buyers can choose from 10 colour options, including Sober Green, Rosso, Mocha Dust, Metallic Yellow and Lunar Silver.
Safety features
Blinq RYDE gets several safety features, including front disc brakes, ABS and EBD. It also comes with rear parking sensors, a reverse parking camera, seatbelt reminder and high-speed alert.
Motor and running costs
The electric car uses a compact electric motor paired with an automatic transmission. Blinq claims the RYDE can offer up to 60% lower running costs compared with petrol and diesel vehicles.
With its combination of a Rs 4.50 lakh starting price, five-seat layout, 250 km claimed range and sub-five-minute battery swapping, the Blinq RYDE is positioned as an affordable option for buyers looking for an urban electric car.
