21 cadets of ACC graduated and received the degree of Jawahar Lal Nehru University in Chetwood Auditorium. – Khel Ja

On Saturday, 21 cadets of ACC (Army Cadet College) Dehradun have joined the mainstream of the Indian Military Academy. Here 21 cadets have graduated and joined the mainstream of the academy. These 21 cadets were awarded the degree of Jawaharlal Nehru University at the 122nd convocation ceremony of ACC at Chetwood Auditorium of IMA. After which these cadets will now serve in the Indian Army.

The 122nd convocation ceremony of ACC was commanded by Academy Commandant Lieutenant General Vijay Kumar Mishra at Chetwood Auditorium. He awarded degrees to 21 cadets and told that these people will now join the army as officers after taking one year training in IMA. Of the 21 cadets, 9 cadets are from Arts stream while 12 cadets are from Science stream.

Main stop for officer joining army

Along with this, Lieutenant General Vijay Kumar Mishra, while addressing the cadets, said that this is an important stage in the life of the cadet joining the mainstream of the Indian Military Academy. Now the responsibility of the country is in your hands. You people should fulfill the given responsibility well with character, self-discipline, courage, inspiration and positive attitude. Lieutenant Mishra congratulated all the cadets and wished them a bright future.

Convocation Ceremony at Chetwood Auditorium

The convocation ceremony of ACC started on 10 February 1961 in Chetwood Auditorium. In 1977, ACC was linked to the Indian Military Academy. Even before this, many big officers have been awarded awards from this college.

Let us tell you that the Indian Military Academy was established in 1932. Its founder was the then Indian Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Sir Philip Walhouse Chetwood. Chetwood had said during its inception – ‘It is your first duty, at all times and always, to work for the security, honor and welfare of the country. After that, the respect, welfare and comfort of the people working under you and your own comfort, convenience and safety come last. This motto still inspires the soldiers.
