From seeing them with the police, with armed forces, with politicians and seeing 10 black ones together in South India (I’m from the South) and defying physics in Rohit Shetty films, we have grown fond of the Mahindra Scorpio. We’re talking about the previous generation model marketed as Scorpio Classic.
This old-school SUV still has a fan following and is giving it a major update for 2026. Exterior changes of this SUV have now leaked online and they give us a glimpse of what Mahindra has to offer with the updated Scorpio Classic for 2026. A launch timeline is not known and there haven’t been any test mules spied yet.
2026 Mahindra Scorpio Classic Update Leaked
In terms of design, there are very few changes and the company seems to be retaining the original silhouette and charm, which is not a bad thing. At the front, we can see a slightly updated grille with a mesh background and then slightly redesigned silver skid plate. LED DRLs have been replaced with a chrome strip now.
From the side, there are fewer changes too, but they lend a completely unique aesthetic now. The Black treatment for pillars seems to be gone and the rear quarter glass looks larger now, as Mahindra seems to have removed the Black plastic trim. Side body cladding is updated with SCORPIO badging now on rear door and there are updated roof rails.
Alloy wheels are new and they feature slightly thicker spokes in a five-element pattern. These wheels get a Black finish that look quite nice. At the rear are the most prominent changes as the 2026 Mahindra Scorpio Classic loses the vertical tail lights flanking the rear windshield. These are replaced by Black plastic elements.
Rear spoiler is now larger and it features a high-mounted stop light which is not there in the current model. Other change is the rear bumper which gets an updated design for rear skid plates, again finished in Silver.
Sunroof on Classic Scorpio
For the first time in Scorpio Classic, Mahindra is offering a sunroof, which will appeal to sunroof enthusiasts. It is a single-pane unit, though. Interiors of the updated Scorpio Classic are not leaked yet. We wish Mahindra adds ventilated seats, larger touchscreen, an updated dashboard, auto-dimming IRVM and others.
Powertrain options are not likely to be updated. However, we wish Mahindra offers an automatic gearbox option to the existing 2.2L Diesel engine. Also, 4X4 transfer case and other 4WD hardware from Scorpio N could be nice additions too.
