2024 Bajaj Chetak EV To Launch On January 9: Here’s What We Know So Far

Bajaj Auto is setting the stage for launching the new Chetak electric scooter in the Indian market. The two-wheeler electric vehicle manufacturer will launch the revised Chetak EV on January 9. With this new iteration, the electric two-wheelers will get many changes covering various aspects like its design, feature list, and mechanics.

This comes after the automaker launched the 2024 Bajaj Chetak Urbane variant.

Based on the information leaked earlier, the 2024 Bajaj Chetak is expected to get an upgrade over the recently launched Urbane and Premium variants of the EV. It is expected to get a similar all-metal body with smooth curves complementing the design. Furthermore, signature design elements like a round headlamp and lights on the apron are expected to be carried forward.

Along with this, the 2024 Bajaj Chetak is also expected to get a new TFT screen replacing the old LCD unit instrument cluster with a circular housing. Anticipations are that the brand will add a few new features to the list like tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), turn-by-turn navigation, remote lock/unlock, Bluetooth connectivity, and more. If reports are to be trusted the under-seat storage will be increased from 18 litres to 21 liters in the updated EV.

The 2024 Bajaj Chetak is expected to get a bigger battery pack of 3.2 kWh battery pack which is anticipated to have a range of 127 km on a single charge. This will be a major upgrade on the existing 2.88 kWh battery pack which offers a claimed range of 113 km on a single charge. Based on the information revealed by the leaked document the electric two-wheeler will take 4 hours 30 minutes to charge from 0-100 percent. It will get a higher top speed of 73 kmph which is more than 63 kmph on the outgoing version.

2024 Bajaj Chetak will bring major changes in design, performance, and features which will be a change in the brand’s pattern of launching new variants with minor updates. With all of these updates, the EV will get an increased price range. Once launched it will compete against models like Ather 450X, Simple One, TVS iQube, Ola S1 Pro, and others.
