The historic Rashtrapati Ashiya located on Rajpur Road, Dehradun will open for the general public from the month of April. On the instructions of President Draupadi Murmu, officials of the President’s Secretariat reached Dehradun on Saturday and held a meeting with the officials of the state government. During this time, he has given instructions to provide necessary facilities for the public in Ashiana.
On the instructions of President Draupadi Murmu, now the 186 year old Rashtrapati Ashiana located in Dehradun is being opened for the common people. Spread over an area of 21 acres, this complex is currently being used by the Presidential Body Guard (PBG).
On Saturday, Additional Secretary Dr. Rakesh Gupta held a high level meeting at the President’s Secretariat in Ashiana Complex for necessary preparations before opening the complex for the general public. In this he discussed with high officials of Uttarakhand government. In which it was decided that common people would be able to enter the main building of the complex.
During this time, along with the Rashtrapati Ashiana, people will also get a chance to get acquainted with the history of the 251 year old regiment PBG of the Indian Army and its 186 year old stable. People will also be able to enjoy the beautiful garden and cafeteria here.
In the meeting, instructions were given to provide facilities of electricity, water and parking before opening the complex for the general public. PBG CO Colonel Amit Berwal, OSD Swati Shahi along with Uttarakhand Government Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Sachin Kurve, Pankaj Kumar Pandey, DM Dehradun Sween Bansal and other officers were present in the meeting. Earlier, on the instructions of the President, Rashtrapati Nilayam in Hyderabad and Rashtrapati Nivas in Mashobra have also been opened for the general public.
