15-year-old girl gang-raped in a moving car in Biswanath, Assam. 5 accused arrested after being rescued by local people. A case has been registered under the POCSO Act and investigation is ongoing.
Guwahati: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Biswanath district of Assam. Here, 5 people have been arrested in the case of gang rape of a 15 year old girl in a moving car. This incident took place in Chariyali police station area. Some local people saw a car moving in a suspicious condition. When suspicious, he stopped the vehicle and saved the girl. All the arrested accused have been produced in the court and sent on remand. Along with POCSO Act, sections of kidnapping and gangrape have also been imposed on them.
This disgusting incident took place last month. The victim told the police that she was lured into the car by luring her with food. Subsequently, she was raped several times by more than one person. When the local people stopped the car and saved the girl, she was in a semi-nude condition. The accused present in the car were also half-dressed. Biswanath’s Additional SP Deepti Mali said that the vehicle used in the crime has been confiscated. He said that the investigation of the matter is still going on.
