13 Years Of Aashiqui 2: Why Mohit Suri Never Repeated Aditya Roy Kapur-Shraddha Kapoor Pair In His Films?

Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor weaved magic with their on-screen chemistry in Mohit Suri’s film, Aashiqui 2. The romantic musical drama was theatrically released on April 26, 2013. Today, the movie turned 13. On this special occasion, Mohit shared unseen BTS photos from moments and celebrated 13 years of his successful film. He shared memories of making the film with Aditya and Shraddha. In an interview, the filmmaker also opened up about the reason he never repeated the   pair together in his films after the movie was released.

In an interview with Variety India, Mohit revealed why he never made a film with the iconic Aashiqui 2 pair, Aditya and Shraddha, after the 2013 release. The director admitted that he did try not to repeat the magic because it never is the same. He confessed that he didn’t attempt to repeat Shraddha and Aditya in his films as everything else about the first collaboration was too special.

However, Aditya was keen to reunite with the director. Mohit recalled Aditya reached out to him saying that they hadn’t worked together after Aashiqui 2. Reacting to this, the filmmaker promised the actor that he would make an action movie with him. And so he did with Malang. The director added that he couldn’t beat Aashiqui 2 for himself with Aditya.

Continuing the chat, Mohit further shared that whenever he cast some appropriate for the character, it landed for him. But when he tried making a project out of a movie, it didn’t work for the director.

Sharing unseen BTS photos from Aashiqui 2, Mohit stated that some films don’t get made, they make you. “Every moment on set… every silence, every tear, every note of music…,” he wrote in his Instagram note. The filmmaker added that he is grateful for the love his film received and how the movie continues to find people.
