Zero Poverty Mission: Yogi government’s decisive attack on poverty in Uttar Pradesh. Up Zero Poverty Mission Yogi Government Schemes Policies

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Zero Poverty Mission of Uttar Pradesh is becoming an effective model of poverty alleviation. Through DBT, door-to-door verification and technology, eligible families are being connected to housing, ration, health and education.

Lucknow. Poverty alleviation in Uttar Pradesh is no longer just a government announcement. The ‘Zero Poverty Mission’ started under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is now effectively visible on the ground. In this campaign, a model has been created by combining administrative will, technology and ground verification, whose objective is to connect every eligible family with government schemes.

Families like Ramsagar, Urmila and Ramu living in Gosaiganj, Lucknow are an example of this, who have been provided houses, water, roads, electricity, ration and other necessary facilities.

Decisive initiative towards inclusive development

Under the Zero Poverty campaign, deprived families across the state are being identified and linked to government schemes. Like the beneficiaries of Gosaiganj, thousands of families have benefited from housing, food, electricity, water and social security.

Beneficiaries say that this mission is not limited to just economic assistance, but provides holistic solutions related to food, health, housing, education, water, energy and livelihoods. This campaign is a strong step towards making Uttar Pradesh a national model of inclusive development and social security.

First phase: Focus on linking DBT to 8 major schemes

In the first phase of Zero Poverty Mission, the target was to connect eligible families with Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) under 8 main schemes.

As per district level report:

  • Ration scheme benefits 97% eligible families
  • 87% coverage in destitute women pension
  • 62% beneficiaries included in disabled pension
  • Health security to 63% families under PM/CM Jan Arogya Yojana

The work of data purification, removal of duplicates and eligibility verification in Old Age Pension, BOCW Labor Card, Kisan Samman Nidhi and PM/CM Awas Yojana is going on at a fast pace.

Second phase: Door-to-door verification of deprived families.

In the second phase starting from October 15, 2025, on-site verification of deprived families is being done under 16 schemes, which is to be completed by January 15. In this phase, eligible families are being identified for basic facilities like PM Ujjwala Yojana, Toilet Support Scheme, Jal Jeevan Mission and electricity connection, so that no needy is deprived.

Special focus on women empowerment and education

On the basis of the survey, preparations are being made to connect women with livelihood missions and self-help groups (SHGs) on a large scale. In the field of education, the process of re-enrollment has been started to reconnect about 11 thousand children with school.

Feedback received from Chief Minister Helpline 1076

Yogi government has made Chief Minister Helpline 1076 an important medium for monitoring and improving schemes. Analyzing the complaints and suggestions received on the helpline, it is being ensured that the policies are in line with the needs on the ground and no eligible family is left out of the scheme.
