ZEE5 To Stream First Malayalam Web Series From THIS Date

Kammattam On OTT: Popular OTT platform ZEE5, known for its wide variety of original shows and films, has been expanding its content in regional languages. Now, it has been confirmed that a Malayalam web series titled Kammattam will soon be available to watch on ZEE5 as well as on OTTplay Premium. Kammattam is set to premiere on 29 August and will be available for streaming on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. The project is described as a six-episode investigative thriller, inspired by one of the most controversial incidents in Thrissur. The series promises an engaging murder mystery filled with themes of moral conflict and betrayal.

Zee 5 took to X to make the OTT release announcement.Starring Aju Varghese, Lal, and Arjun Radhakrishnan, that series received positive reviews from audiences. With Kammattam, ZEE5 aims to deliver another gripping crime drama for fans of the genre. On the other hand, speaking about the project, Sudev Nair shared that being part of the first Malayalam web series on ZEE5 was a special experience. He described Kammattam as a complex story that examines silence, trust, and the hidden conflicts that shape human nature. 

Kammattam Movie’s Plot 

In Kammattam, the story begins when Circle Inspector Antonio George discovers stolen jewellery at the scene of a suspicious accident that killed landowner Samuel Umman. This strange detail prompts Antonio to dig deeper into the case. His investigation leads him to Shaji, an auto driver with a criminal past, who soon turns up dead in a quarry. Adding to the mystery, an unusual two-wheeler found at a construction site hints at a hidden agenda. All clues eventually point towards one of Samuel’s employees, drawing Antonio into a dangerous web of secrets and lies. As Antonio follows the trail, he uncovers a chilling network of deception that goes far beyond what he imagined. The series promises to keep viewers hooked with twists, tense confrontations, and a layered mystery.

Kammattam Cast And Crew

Sudev Nair plays the lead role of Circle Inspector Antonio George. The supporting cast includes Jeo Baby, Ajay Vaasudev, Sreerekha, Akhil Kavalayoor, Arun Sol, and Jordy Poonjaa. Kammattam is produced by 23 Feet Productions and directed by Shan Thulasidharan. With its strong performances, suspense-driven narrative, and the promise of a fresh take on the investigative thriller genre, Kammattam looks set to make a mark when it premieres later this month.
