New Delhi: Zayn Malik marked the release of his new album Konnakol with an unexpected hospital stay. The singer revealed on Instagram that he had been admitted on the very day the record arrived on streaming platforms, sharing a photograph of himself in a hospital gown with monitors and an IV attached.
Addressing supporters, he wrote, “To my fans – Thank you to all of you for your love & support now & always.” He added that it had “been a long week” and that he was “still unexpectedly recovering”.
“Heartbroken that I can’t see you all this week,” he continued, thanking doctors, nurses, cardiologists and hospital staff. “You are all legends!”

Earlier this year, during an appearance on Call Her Daddy, Malik said, “Five solo albums now… I’m really proud of the progression and just the development and understanding of myself through my music.”
No further details about his condition have been shared.
