YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has called out Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for endorsing a paan masala brand despite being one of the richest actors in the world. In a recent video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Rathee questioned the ethics of such celebrity promotions and urged the actor to reflect on the social impact of his choices.
Rathee cited reports estimating SRK’s net worth at around $1.4 billion (approximately Rs 12,400 crore), placing him among the wealthiest entertainers globally. “Shah Rukh Khan ab ek billionaire ban chuke hain. Unki net worth $1.4 billion pahunch chuki hai. Itna paisa hai ki imagine kar pana mushkil hai,” Rathee said in the video.

He went on to calculate how much passive income the actor could earn even without endorsements. “Mera Shah Rukh Khan se sawaal yeh hai — kya itne paise kaafi nahi hain? Agar kaafi hain toh kya majboori padi ke paan masala jaisi haani kaarak chiz ko aap abhi bhi promote kar rahe ho?” he asked.
Rathee recalled reports that SRK’s brand endorsement fee for the paan masala brand in 2014 was already substantial and would likely have increased since then. He questioned whether the extra income was worth the moral compromise. “Kya aapko yeh extra ₹100–200 crore ki zarurat bhi hai? Agar desh ka top actor haani kaarak chize promote karna bandh kare, toh iska kitna bada impact padega,” Rathee said. The YouTuber encouraged viewers to share the video so that the message reaches the King Khan.
