A big campaign to correct the voter list has started in Uttar Pradesh. The Election Department has warned that if a voter does not fill the SIR form, his name may be removed from the voter list. This process is being done to ensure electoral transparency and fairness. Officials have appealed to the citizens to take active participation in this campaign so that no eligible voter is left out of the list.

BLOs are reaching every house in UP

Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are distributing SIR forms door-to-door across the state. This form is being given to ensure the accuracy of the voter list. According to election officials, every voter is required to return this form to the BLO after filling in the correct information and signing it. If no voter is present at home, an adult member of the family can submit the form by filling in the information of all the members.

Chief Electoral Officer gave strict instructions

Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa recently held a virtual meeting with all the District Election Officers and reviewed the progress of the campaign. He directed that the process of adding and removing names should be completely transparent. If any kind of negligence or irregularity is found, strict action will be taken against the concerned officer. The CEO also said that all the District Magistrates should hold a meeting with the representatives of political parties and ensure the deployment of Booth Level Agent (BLA) so that the BLOs can get support at the local level.

Acceleration in app and distribution process

It was informed in the meeting that printing of census forms has been completed in all the districts. Where distribution is slow, instructions have been given to speed up the process. BLOs have been asked to download BLO App (Version 8.7) and update the progress of form distribution online. Besides, instructions have also been given to map the voter list of the year 2003 with the current list within three days.

“Book a Call with BLO” new facility made contact easier

Keeping in mind the convenience of voters, Election Commission of India has started a new service “Book a Call with BLO”. Now voters can visit the voters.eci.gov.in portal and request a call from the BLO of their area. The BLO will have to respond to the call within 48 hours. The CEO said that this facility will be widely publicized like Helpline 1950, so that every voter can benefit from it.
