KAnyakumari Pastor Arrested News: The Kanyakumari police have arrested the pastor of a Pentecostal Church, who allegedly tried to sexually abuse a young married woman, on the pretext of curing her illness.
The pastor allegedly told him, “Your health problems are because of your relationship with your husband. If you sleep with a prophet like me, you will be fine.”
The incident was associated with a young woman from Thukle area who was ill for some time. In the hope of treatment, she went to Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in the Mekkamandapam area. There, Pastor Regimon claimed that he could fix it through personal prayer.
During the session, he hugged her and tried to assault her. The woman managed to escape and immediately lodged a complaint at the Thukle police station. Acting on the complaint, the police arrested Pastor Regimon on 26 June 2025 and kept him in judicial custody.
According to the victim’s family, the woman had been married for two years, but she was staying at her parents’ house due to health problems and other personal issues. Relatives took him to the church of Pastor Regimon in Mekkamandapam, Pandivilai in the hope of spiritual treatment. During the journey, Regimon allegedly told him that if he donates 10% of his income to the church, his physical illnesses will be cured.
