Can you imagine a tree that is more than five and a half thousand (5,500) years old? A tree that Lord Krishna himself has brought from heaven to the earth? A tree which never has fruit, nor seeds and whose pen does not grow from the pen? It is not a story, but a reality.
Located in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh, this miraculous and mysterious Parijat tree still stands gracefully and has hidden many deep secrets related to the Mahabharata period in its chest.
This is not just a tree, but a living proof of faith and surprise is a waking proof. What is the story of this ‘tree’? There are two very interesting legends associated with this wonderful Parijat tree: 1. When Shri Krishna brought this flower from heaven: According to a legend, Lord Krishna’s wife Satyabhama said to bring flowers to heaven.
To fulfill his wife’s wish, Shri Krishna fought Indra Dev and conquered a branch of the Parijat tree and brought it to the garden of Satyabhama in Dwarka. It is said that this is the same ‘Harsingar’ tree, also called Parijat. 2. When Arjuna created history for Maa Kunti: The local and most popular story is associated with the Mahabharata period. It is said that the Pandavas spent a lot of time here during their exile.
During this time, Mata Kunti wanted to worship Lord Shiva, but there was no temple nearby. To fulfill his mother’s wish, Arjuna built a Shiva temple (today known as ‘Mahabharata carpet temple’) in a single night. Mata Kunti wanted flowers from the sky for worship, so Arjuna brought this entire Parijat tree from heaven to earth with his penance. It is said that Mata Kunti used to anoint Shiva every day with its golden flowers.
What is mysterious and special in this tree? This tree has also become a mystery for botanists. Anokha: It is considered the only tree of its kind in the world. A new plant does not grow by cutting any branch and planting it elsewhere.
No fruit or seed: This tree never planted fruits or seeds. Rang -changing flowers: Its white flowers become golden as soon as it is in the morning: its stem and branches are so thick and huge that its age can be estimated by looking at them. Seeing it, it seems as if it seems to have come from another world. Due to these qualities, it is the center of faith of crores of people and people from far and wide come to see this ‘divine tree’.
