Dude, starring and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, is all set to hit theatres on October 17. Along with its lead pair, the film features an ensemble cast including R. Sarathkumar, Neha Shetty, Rohini, and Hridhu Haroon.
Following his blockbuster film Dragon, Dude is riding high on expectations and is touted to be a romantic comedy-action drama.
However, what has now made headlines is an incident during a promotional event for Dude, involving Pradeep, Sarathkumar, and a Telugu journalist.
During the interaction, the journalist posed a completely uncalled-for and disappointing question to Pradeep. She asked:
“You don’t look like hero material. But you seem to have found success and a fan following in movies. Will you attribute it to luck or hard work?”
Even before Pradeep could respond, his senior colleague Sarathkumar took the mic and delivered a befitting reply.
Drawing on his experience of acting in about 170 films, Sarathkumar said:
“You cannot say from A to Z who is hero material. Everybody here is hero material. There’s no fixed specification for a hero. A person doing anything that benefits society is a hero.”
While Pradeep, known for his humble and grounded nature, responded calmly and won more hearts with his heart-melting reply to the journalist.
Accepting Sarathkumar’s support with gratitude, Pradeep Ranganathan said:
“Hard work is definitely there. Over the past few months, I’ve been reflecting on the love and support I’ve received. There are many talented people out there like me – I’ve seen it. I think people connect with me because they see a part of themselves in me. When they watch the screen, they feel like they are the hero – they’re the ones acting, fighting, and romancing. And because they see themselves in me, I already become a hero in their eyes.”
With a striking demeanour, the actor-director continues his victory lap in Kollywood. After Dude, his next release will be Love Insurance Kompany, directed by Vignesh Shivan, which also stars Krithi Shetty.(With inputs from Agencies)
