Dhar Murder Case: In Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, the wife and her lover together conspired to murder her husband. Contract killing was done for Rs 1 lakh and a false drama of robbery was created. The entire matter came to light in the police investigation, both the accused were arrested.
At first glance the case seemed like a simple robbery and murder, but as the police proceeded with the investigation, the story took a turn that shocked everyone. When the secret of the murder of a spice trader in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh came to light, a horrifying story of deception, insult and conspiracy came to light. 28-year-old Devkrishna Purohit was murdered in his own house on the night of 7 April. Marks of attack with a sharp weapon were found on his body.
The story of ‘loot’ turned out to be false, suspicion fell on the wife
Initially, wife Priyanka Purohit told the police that some unknown miscreants entered the house, looted jewelery worth Rs 3.5 lakh and killed her husband. But during the investigation the police found many things suspicious. Priyanka was changing her statements again and again. When the house was searched, the same jewelery which she said was stolen was recovered. From here the police suspicion deepened.

‘You are black… you don’t deserve me’ – family’s big allegation
The deceased’s sister Jyoti told that Devkrishna’s married life was under tension for a long time. He alleges that Priyanka would often insult Devkrishna and say, “You are black… you don’t deserve me… I deserve better than this.” According to the family, Devkrishna tolerated everything so that there was peace in the house.
Complete conspiracy of murder hatched with lover
Police investigation revealed that Priyanka had an affair with Kamlesh Purohit, a resident of Rajgarh. Together they planned to remove Devkrishna from the way. They also involved a shooter to carry out this conspiracy.
‘Contract killing’ for 1 lakh, 50 thousand advance
According to police:
- Kamlesh prepared his partner Surendra Bhati for murder.
- The deal was done for Rs 1 lakh
- Advance of Rs 50 thousand was given
The door of the house was deliberately left open on the night of the murder. Surendra entered inside and attacked the sleeping Devkrishna.
Trying to show oneself as a ‘victim’
After the murder, the room was messed up to make the entire incident look like a robbery. Priyanka also made noise to portray herself as a ‘victim’ and claimed that she was tied and held hostage. But technical evidence, like mobile call details, exposed the entire conspiracy.
Accused wife breaks down during police interrogation
After continuous interrogation, Priyanka confessed to her crime. The police have arrested her and her lover Kamlesh. At the same time, the accused shooter Surendra Bhati is still absconding and the search for him is going on.
Family’s demand: The culprits should be hanged.
The family is completely devastated by this incident. The mother of the deceased has demanded strict punishment for the accused. The family says that this is not a sudden crime, but the result of a conspiracy that has been going on for years.
